QuinceaƱera Cake

Here is a cake I made for a sweet girls QuinceaƱera celebration.  It is a 4 tiered cake with Coconut filled with coconut cream, chocolate filled with strawberry cream, and mocha with almond cream.  It is covered with buttercream frosting then Marshmallow fondant.  I  embellished it with glitter sprinkles and silk flowers.   The bottom tier has the ever popular mustaches indented into it and the top layer is a reverse ruffle.  I am so happy with how beautifully it turned out.

Here is a wedding I did for a beautiful couple in August.  They wanted simple cupcakes and a rosette cake that mimicked the rosette pattern on her dress.  I loved how her colors went with the simplicity of the cake and cupcakes.

Happy 1st Birthday

My friend asked me to make her cake for son's first birthday.  She wanted a monkey cake. I love making animals out of fondant, so this was a fun project for me.  It was a funfetti cake filled with vanilla creme, covered in marshmallow fondant.  There were of course cupcakes to match.  This cake still makes me smile!

MASQUERADE....Paper Faces on Parade

For my 30th and one of my best friends 40th we had a Masquerade Party.  It was so amazing.  For the festivities I made a 4 tiered cake, cupcakes a new york cheesecake and double chocolate cheesecake.  The cake flavors included red velvet with cream cheese frosting, Almond cake with Almond buttercream, and Chocolate with Dark Chocolate frosting.  The cake was covered in buttercream frosting and decorated with feathers, fondant roses, and fondant masks.  A special thanks goes out to my friend Hannah who helped me with the fondant masks.

Kendall and Kaytee's Cake

My youngest brother and his beautiful bride had me make their wedding cake for the reception in Utah (Really they had no choice) .  It was hexagon shaped tiered cake.   It had red velvet, chocolate and vanilla layers.  It was covered in buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers and edible pearls.  I loved how simple but pretty it looked.

DR. WHO

My Prince and I's all-time favorite show is the BBC's "Dr. Who".  For the 2011 season premier, I made a Tardis to celebrate such an AWESOME show.
(If you don't currently watch it, go and do! AMAZING!!)
Anyway, this cake is make with vanilla pound cake and covered with marshmallow fondant.  I learned so much from this cake and hope to try it again another time to try and get better lines, but it was a lot of fun to make!

Kick boxing...followed by cake?!?!

Our kickboxing instructor had to have knee surgery and we thought what better way to celebrate not being able to work out than to make her a cake.  She liked it and we missed her terribly while she was away!

New Beginnings Cupcakes

Here are some cupcakes I made for our Young Women's New Beginnings night.  The theme was "Black and White" and so I decided that chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, topped with vanilla buttercream, black fondant daisies, and white pearls would fit the theme perfectly.

St. Patricks Day

I LOVE ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!!!  It probably has something to do with the fact that my birthday is the next day....or maybe all that you have to do it wear green, whatever the reason it is a happy holiday.  One that I love to celebrate with green milk, green eggs, green gravy, green potatoes and of course a St. Patty's day cake (Yes the cake is green too!)  So here is my sheet cake to pay homage to that fun holiday!

Chugga, Chugga Choo Choo!

When the Twinies turned 2, I decided a train cake would be super cute to do, and do I did.  I made fondant animals to sit on top of the train cars and a fondant covered engine.   The board is covered with fondant and frosting.  and the railroad tracks are made out of chocolate covered vanilla wafers.  I was still learning the complexities of using fondant so it is a bit primitive, but I was still happy with the results.
Fondant Animals..Aren't they cute...

...And tasty apparently...the Twinies found them and decided to eat them...

.....So I had to remake them

Happy Birthday boys!!

Appa Cake

For my oldest son's 7th birthday he was really into Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon on Nickelodeon. So we did an Avatar party...complete with Appa the flying Bison. I had a lot of fun, molding, carving and creating this fun figure.
